LANDSAM Faculty Board Election

Tin was elected as the deputy member for the period of 2022/2023, representing the temps in research/teaching positions at LANDSAM. He was headhunted for the position, and rose to the occasion by rallying a campaign with slogans in the final hours of the election - narrowly losing out to Gry Rustad Pettersen by less than one vote*.

As a candidate, Tin was a natural pick as his entire professional track has embodied the temp mindset: never taking up full-time employement, being self-made, partaking in the gig-economy, project-based activities etc. His main causes were the freedom of speech and the mental health among the Norwegian** research fellows. This has been an ongoing topic in the public sceen, as fellows feels like they cannot express their feelings that can limit their future chances of employment.

*Data on vote count: Gry won with 2.0 votes in total. Tin got 1.3 votes (1 first priority and 1 second priority vote). There were two candidates in the election at LANDSAM. Every faculty at NMBU has to be represented by two candidates.

**Typo mistake: what Tin meant in his campaign was, ‘research fellows of all nationalities’ and not only focusing on Ethnic Norwegians. The campaign was published before the typo could be dealt with, and is a matter of public record now.
