LAA350 - Analysis

Tin will deliver the lecture “From Analysis to Concept” for the second time, highlighting the importance of linking these two stages. While this may seem contradictory in a field defined by wicked problems and no absolute answers, such connection is essential for coherence in any concept or outcome. Another goal of the lecture is to clarify and distinguish the different stages of the planning process taught in EIE310, LAA350, and APL350.

This presentation is a “direct commission” from Terje Holsen, course coordinator for APL350, intended to clarify the differences between methods used in project development (LAA350) and those applied in project implementation (APL350). The three courses represent sequential stages of the early planning process: property market and analysis (EIE310), project development (LAA350), and project implementation (APL350). A related issue has also emerged, as some students have been reusing deliverables from LAA350 in EIE310. The presentation is concise in format and lasts 45 minutes.

The course LAA350 - Projects in Urban Planning is a 20 ECTS course, focusing on the urban development of the city centre in the medium-sized city Kongsvinger. The course encourages studies of structures, massing and in-between spaces. LAA350 was conceived and previously led by professor Elin Børrud, before her departure this year. The teaching staff consist of Anja Standal, the new course responsible (BYREG) and Tin Phan (EIEJUSS)
