Grønlikaia Finals - Tin & Tomas presents!

For 2 consecutive days, 16 teams across 5 sites will present their proposals. Tin and Tomas Stokke presented on behalf of the team, at 14:00 o’clock, 27th of September. The design and program proposal has been revised on the basis of the midway review before the summer holidays.

The presentation still revolves around the same concepts market hall, back-end building, and community house - but more importantly, how the social, environmental and commercial viability is acquired. Beyond the chapter of “factbased urban development”, Tin spoke vividly about going undercover in the Bachata underground dance community, about how the elderly juror Elin Børrud could not find a scaled-down venue for her 60th birthday, and not least, his wonderment of how the competitors dealt with the apt. norm for the inner city of Oslo. Yes, all of this would’ve made sense if you actually came to the session!

This is one of the last two coveted pieces to be developed on the Oslo harborfront (the other being Filipstad), and this session marks one the final point of the early-stage development, and not least, how to attain the ambitions of economic, social and environmental sustainability. The other competitors on the site of Grønlikilen was Helen & Hard and LPO.

The client and developer of this competition is HAV Eiendom, and in a rare move they split the parallel commission phase into 5 separate processes, with 3-4 teams on each site. The masterplanner is Rodeo, setting the tone and pace. The jurors are Elin Børrud, Erling Dokk Holm and Iwan Thomson.
