PHDINN904 Doing Responsible Innovation

The course provides participants with an advanced understanding of real-world applicability of RRI. Through critical reflection, students scrutinize and evaluate key dimensions of Stilgoe’s framework for responsible innovation: anticipation, reflexivity, inclusion and responsiveness. This course also discusses more the entrepreneurial part or the micro-level of a specific case.

Tin chose to apply the PHDINN904 course after Arnt Fløysand during PHDINN903 explicitly told Tin that he could pursue an entrepreneurial part within his own PhD research. As it turned out, this was not the case for PHDINN904, as he now has to work on one of HVL’s PhD’s on crowdfunding in the culture sector. Tin even got to interview one of his childhood reality stars, Christer Falck on his crowdfunding initiative, “Norske Albumklassikere”. Legend has it that Tin still has not forgiven Arnt for his deception.

This course was led by Inger Beate Pettersen and is part of HVL’s RESINNREG doctoral programme. Research fellows has to complete 30 ECTS credits of courses for the duration of a PhD-programme, each course consisting of ca. 5 ECTS (6 courses all together). Some of these courses are mandatory, while the rest of the ECTS are electives chosen accordingly to the relevance of the candidate’s PhD, such as this HVL course. The total count is currently at 25 ECTS credits.

The duration of this course was between 28-30.03.2022 - 03-04.05.2022.
