PHDINN903 - Understanding and Exploring Innovation

Tin attends the a course at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). The full name of the course is “PHDINN903 Exploring and Understanding Innovation” and the aim is to give an overview of the state-of-the-art within the research field of innovation. Tin entered the course as to initiate his first tentative article, describing Spacemaker AI, by alternating between real estate and innovation theory. Tin made use of two theoretical frameworks; diffusion of innovations, and sustainability transitions.

This course was led by Arnt Fløysand and is part of HVL’s RESINNREG doctoral programme. PHDINN903 investigates how innovation can meet social, economic and environmental challenges in regional contexts. Research fellows has to complete 30 ECTS credits of courses for the duration of a PhD-programme, each course consisting of ca. 5 ECTS (6 courses all together. Some of these courses are mandatory, while the rest of the ECTS are electives chosen accordingly to the relevance of the candidate’s PhD, such as this HVL course. The total count is currently at 15 ECTS credits.
