CSO Poster Challenge

Tin invited some experts for the Poster Challenge on the matter of message and design and the combination of the two. The experts on the matter were Hans Marius Engebretsen, a copywriter with experience on different ads in Norway (ex. Rosa Sløyfe), Isak Gunrosen, a designer of the controversial Foreningen Tryggere Ruspolitikk ad campaign.

Main takeaway was: any visual expression, even if just a poster, is also a mechanism of selling an argument, idea or a message. The students were asked to understand their imaginary client, target group and/or context. In doing so, they were forced to sharpen their slogan and image on how it related to a given audience. In the world of ads, one cannot just blurt out ones message, the truth has to be massaged, and planted in the minds of the reader.
